There was once a farmer who planted bamboo seeds in his field. He was told that bamboo was a valuable crop, but it required patience and dedication to grow. Excited by the prospect, the farmer tilled the soil, planted the seeds, and watered them diligently every day.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, but there was no sign of growth. Other farmers in the village mocked him. “Why waste time on something that doesn’t even sprout?” they said. They ridiculed his belief in something they couldn’t see.
But the farmer didn’t give up. He kept watering and tending to his bamboo patch every single day. A year passed, then two, then three, and still, there was no bamboo. Yet, the farmer trusted the process.
In the fifth year, something extraordinary happened. The bamboo sprouted—and it didn’t stop. Within just six weeks, it grew over 90 feet tall!
The farmer later explained to those who doubted him: “For five years, the bamboo was growing underground. It was developing a strong root system to support its incredible height. Without that foundation, it would never have grown so tall and so fast.”
